Slack Integration

Configure Slack to receive support emails and reply to customers directly from threads.

Overview

Slack is where your team handles support with ReplyMill. Incoming emails appear as Slack messages in your chosen channel, and replies happen directly in threads. AI drafts are included so your team can review and send with one click.

Connecting Slack

Step 1: Start the connection

In your ReplyMill dashboard, go to Settings → Integrations → Slack and click "Connect Slack".

Step 2: Authorize ReplyMill

You'll be redirected to Slack's OAuth page. Review the permissions and click "Allow". ReplyMill requests permission to:

  • Post messages to channels you select
  • Read messages in threads where ReplyMill posts
  • Access basic workspace info (name, channels list)

ReplyMill does not read your private messages or channels beyond what it posts.

Step 3: Select a channel

After authorization, choose which Slack channel should receive support emails. We recommend creating a dedicated channel like #support or #support-inbox.

How Messages Appear

When a new support email arrives, ReplyMill posts a message with:

  • Customer name and email — who sent the message
  • Subject line — the email subject
  • Email body — the full content of the email
  • AI-drafted reply — posted in the thread as a suggestion your team can edit

Follow-up emails from the same customer are added to the same Slack thread, keeping the full conversation in one place.

Replying to Customers

To reply to a customer from Slack:

  1. Open the Slack thread for the support email
  2. Review the AI-drafted reply — edit it or write your own response
  3. Use the ReplyMill action button to send the reply back to the customer via email

The customer receives a normal email reply from your support address. They won't see that it came through Slack.

Channel Configuration

Multiple channels

You can route different types of emails to different channels. For example, bugs go to #support-bugs and feature requests go to #support-features. Configure this in Settings → Routing Rules.

Notifications

ReplyMill can mention specific team members or groups based on issue type. Configure notification rules in Settings → Notifications.

Troubleshooting

Messages not appearing in Slack

  • Verify the Slack connection is active in Settings → Integrations
  • Make sure ReplyMill has been invited to the channel (in Slack, type /invite @ReplyMill in the channel)
  • Check that Gmail forwarding is working — emails need to reach ReplyMill first

Reconnecting Slack

If the connection breaks (e.g. after a Slack workspace change), go to Settings → Integrations → Slack and click "Reconnect".
